TrueRCM, a Rapid Care Transcription, Inc., company, is notifying individuals whose information may have been involved in a cybersecurity incident.
In November of 2025 TrueRCM, a Rapid Care Transcription, Inc., company (“RCT”), was the victim of a cyber security incident from an unauthorized third party that resulted in systems and servers being inoperable for a limited time. Immediately upon identifying the incident, RCT engaged third-party cybersecurity experts to assess, contain, and remediate the incident. Law enforcement was also notified.
Although the investigation is ongoing, RCT’s investigation to date has determined that the unauthorized party may have accessed sensitive information on RCT’s systems. RCT then performed an in-depth review of the known, potentially impacted information to determine whom it belonged, and to locate valid addresses for these individuals.
Although RCT has found no evidence that information in its care has been specifically misused, the following information was potentially exposed to an unauthorized third party: first name, last name, date of birth, Social Security number, driver’s license or state identification number, and medical information. Notably, the types of information affected were different for each individual, and not every individual had all the above listed elements exposed.
As a precautionary measure, individuals should promptly report any fraudulent activity or suspected identity theft to proper law enforcement authorities, including the police and their state’s attorney general. Affected individuals may also wish to review the tips provided by the Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”) on fraud alerts, security/credit freezes, and steps that they can take to avoid identity theft. For more information and to contact the FTC, individuals can visit www.ftc.gov/idtheft or call 1-877-ID-THEFT (1-877-438-4338). Affected individuals may also contact the FTC at Federal Trade Commission, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20580.
